Awards Information

High Score Awards

The National Bowling Association, Inc. shall prepare and present to sanctioned members in good standing awards approved by the Executive Committee, who shall in a single sanctioned game or series bowl a "special high score".  Click here to view a list of awards.

All games must have been bowled in a TNBA and USBC certified league or tournament play.

A watch or ring shall be awarded to the male or female who has bowled a score of "300". A watch or gemstone lapel pin shall be awarded for a "299" game. These shall be given only once per season to each individual bowler.

Verification of performance of 300, 299 and 298 games, and 800 and 900 series bowled, shall be signed by and obtained from the Senate President and/or Senate Secretary, League and/or Tournament secretary, and received by the Awards Department with the high score application, before approval will be given, for the award to be presented by The National Bowling Association, Inc.

A gold diamond ring shall be awarded to male or female bowlers who achieve a "900" series. This award shall be given only once to each individual bowler during the bowling season.

A ring, watch or gemstone lapel pin shall be awarded to male or female bowlers who achieve an "800" series. This award shall be given only once to each individual bowler during the bowling season.

A lapel pin shall be awarded to male or female bowlers who achieve a "700" series. This award shall be given only once during the bowling season.

A Lapel Pin and chevron shall be awarded to female bowlers who achieve a "600" series. This award shall be given once per season.

The categories of awards below, shall be awarded only once to each individual bowler during the bowling season.

A Lapel Pin shall be awarded to male bowlers who have bowled scores in the 285-298 category.

A Lapel Pin shall be awarded to female bowlers who have bowled scores in the 275-298 category.

A Lapel Pin shall be awarded to male bowlers who have bowled scores in the 275-284 game category whose average at the time of performance is under 185.

A Lapel Pin shall be awarded to female bowlers who have bowled scores in the 265-274 game category whose average at the time of performance is under 170.

An Achievement Chevron shall be awarded to members in good standing who bowl the following (averages referred to must reflect the average at time of performance that scores are bowled):

  • Male or female bowlers with a 160 average or under; sanctioned 630 or better three (3) game series and/or 250 or better single game.
  • Male or female bowlers with a 150 average or under; sanctioned 600 or better three (3) game series and /or a 225 or better single game.
  • Male or female bowlers with a 135 average or under; sanctioned 500 or better three (3) game series and/or 200 or better single game.

A Special Achievement Chevron shall be awarded to members in good standing who bowl the following (averages referred to must reflect the average a the time of performance that scores are bowled):

  • 100 Pins Over Average (Single Game) Dutch 200 Game
  • 150 Pins Over Average (Three Game Series) Eleven in a Row (297 game or less)
  • Triplicate game 7 – 10 Split
  • All Spare Game

Procedure for Reporting High Scores

  • All applications must be completely filled out and signed by the applicant, League or Tournament Secretary and Senate President.
  • Application must be received, all copies intact, by the Senate Secretary, within seven (7) days after the date of performance.
  • Senate Secretary must send application to the Awards Department within forty-five (45) days after the date of performance. Mail to: The National Bowling Association, Inc., 9944 Reading Road, Evendale, OH 45241. Email Address nationaloffice@tnbainc.org. Fax – (513) 769 3596.
  • All scores must be bowled in certified league or tournament play.
  • All awards, for games of 298 and under, will be presented only once to each individual bowler during the bowling season.

Games of "299" &"300" awards are presented to an individual ONCE PER SEASON.

"600", "700", "800", &"900" SERIES:

  • "600" Series are presented to female bowlers, only. Once every season (male bowlers must have an average of 160 and under).
  • "700", "800" &"900" Series are presented to both male and female bowlers, ONCE PER SEASON.

Please report ALL eligible "600", "700", "800" &"900" series bowled, regardless of the number or if previously reported. TNBA retains a "600" - "900" series record for each individual.

Application for Achievement Award &Individual High Score Award

This application is used when a bowler bowls a Single High Game, a 600, 700, 800, &900 series, or has obtained any of the achievements listed on this application. Send the original (white) and maintain the copy (yellow) for your senate file.

Achievement Award Application for Lower Average Bowler

This application is to be used for indicated games/series achieved by the lower average bowler. Qualifications are listed on the lower portion of the application. A bowler’s score may qualify him/her for an award in the "regular" category as well as this category. In this event make application for the "regular" awards category, using the Application for Individual High Score and Achievement Award.

DO NOT SUBMIT BOTH! The one copy of the Lower Average Bowler is all that is necessary. Send same to the Awards Department.

Any application that is not received within the required period will not be honored.

Any application that is received incomplete will be returned to the Senate Secretary.
